New iPad expected to launch October 16 at Apple event

Apple Inc plans to have a special event on October 16th, where it is expected to launch it’s new round of iPads.

The Cupertino company is expected to unveil the new iPads as well as Yosemite 10.10 it’s latest mac operating system.

The 6th generation iPad is expected to have 9.7″ screen as well as an iPad mini with 7.9″ screen.  A report from Bloomberg News early this week said Apple will add a gold color option for its full-size iPads. The gold color will be added to the silver and gray option of the iPad Air.

Apple sold 13.3 million iPads in the second quarter of 2014, it was projected to be 14 million by analysts. Sales of the iPad have declined for the past two quarters after soaring from US$5 billion when the product was introduced in 2010 to US$30 billion in 2012. Last year, iPad sales produced US$32 billion.
